Show Synopsis: When four young singers are killed in a car crash, they posthumously take the stage for one final gig in this goofy, 1950s nostalgia trip.
Once upon a time, there were four guys (Sparky, Smudge, Jinx and Frankie) who discovered that they shared a love for music and then got together to become their idols – The Four Freshman, The Hi-Lo's and The Crew Cuts.
Rehearsing in the basement of Smudge's family's plumbing supply company, they became "Forever Plaid". On the way to their first big gig, the "Plaids" are broadsided by a school bus and killed instantly. It is at the moment when their careers and lives end that the story of Forever Plaid begins....
Introduce Yourself
When you walk into the audition room, tell us your name and the piece you have prepared. This makes a good first impression.
Be Prepared
if you’re asked to present a song, prepare your piece well
Consider the Accompanist
When selecting an audition piece, be mindful of how difficult the accompaniment is. Often audition accompanists are reading your piece with little time to prep, the more difficult the accompaniment, the more likely your audition will not be as great as you had planned for. If your audition piece has a challenging accompaniment, we suggest bringing your own accompanist who is familiar with the piece and the way you perform it, or a backing track,
with the means to play it.
Don't Watch the Directors
While doing your audition, do not look directly at the people you are auditioning for, unless specifically directed to do so.
Dress Appropriately
We always ask that auditioners come dressed for movement. Meaning, you should dress in clothes that are comfortable and will not impede your movement.
Use Your Waiting Time Wisely
It’s great to see old friends and make new ones at an audition but be sure to take some time to focus on your audition.
And Now for the Most Important Ones!
Be kind to everyone and smile- Remember that you audition for every show begins the moment you walk in the door. You may be perfect in the audition room, but rudeness or behaviors in the waiting room will be noticed.
Mistakes Happen! If you make a mistake, do not apologize. Remember that others may not even notice a mistake, but if you point it out to them, they will know for sure!
It’s OKAY to be nervous! Don’t worry about being nervous. Just about everyone is nervous. Do your best, smile, and have a good time!
HAVE FUN!
