Mission Statement

The mission of Watertown Lyric Youth Theater (LYT) is to enrich the lives of youth by creating a positive
environment to experience live theater; stimulate the imagination and creativity of young people; and, to
develop life skills though participating in the performing arts.

Lyric Youth Theater Academy

The LYT Academy conducts a performance workshop providing instruction in all aspects of musical
theater - voice techniques, choreography, character development, costume and scenic design. Our
technical workshop provides non-performance theater instruction in all technical areas from show
conception to performance.

Lyric Kids! - Ages 5-14

  • Learn how to dance, sing and act in a musical production
  • Learn technical stagecraft using costumes, props and sets
  • Performance on the last day of camp

Lyric Teens! - Ages 14-20

  • Learn how to audition, work on advanced vocal techniques and character development
  • Learn technical stagecraft using costumes, props and sets
  • Performance on the last day of camp


Lyric Tech! - Ages 14-20

  • Learn all aspects of running and mounting a performance
  • Learn basics of stage management, lighting, costumes, props, sets and sound
  • Assist backstage in LYT Academy musical performance
